The Kennel Club ​Puppy Foundation Award

This 8 week course costs £75 and covers a range of basic obedience exercises and essential life skills such as 

  • Attention to name 
  • Sit, Down and Stand
  • Walking nicely on a lead
  • Coming back when called
  • Wait and Stay
  • Handling to maintain health
  • How to settle 
  • Focus around distraction
  • Play 
  • Introduction to tricks 
  • Socialisation with other dogs and people 
  • General advice on common puppy problems 
  • Puppy essentials one to one at £40 instead of £50

Class sizes are limited to 6-8 puppies (depending on venue) and we have two trainers taking classes to ensure all pups and owners get one to one time and attention each week. Class activity is mixed between individual and group exercises. You will need to bring with you plenty of soft treats that your dog enjoys (chicken frankfurters work well) and a favourite toy. You can also bring a blanket for your pup to rest on in between turns. 

Our puppy foundation classes are held at Taynton and Tibberton Village hall at 6.30pm on a Monday, Maisemore Village hall at 6pm on a Tuesday and Quedgeley Community Centre at 7.15pm on a Wednesday. For upcoming course dates please go to our courses and events page.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award

This 8 week course costs £75 and introduces and develops various basic obedience exercises and essential life skills such as

  • Loose lead walking 
  • Manners and self control
  • Going through gates/doors politely
  • Basic recall
  • Focus around distraction 
  • Handling and grooming 
  • One minute stay
  • Responsibility and Care of the dog

Class sizes are limited to 6-8 dogs (depending on venue) and we have two trainers taking classes to ensure all dogs and owners get one to one time and attention each week. Class activity is mixed between individual and group exercises. You will need to bring with you plenty of soft treats that your dog enjoys (chicken frankfurters work well) and a favourite toy. You can also bring a blanket for your dog to rest on in between turns.

This 8 week block of classes costs £75 and develops skills learnt in bronze, increases difficulty of known exercises while also introducing some new ones. The silver award includes

  • Play with the dog
  • Loose lead walking in an outdoor situation
  • Wait Recall (10 paces)
  • Recall away from dogs and people 
  • Polite greeting of strangers
  • Manners around people eating food
  • Handling by a stranger 
  • Vehicle control
  • Two minute stay
  • Additional responsibility and care 

Class sizes are limited to 6-8 dogs, depending on venue. Class activity is mixed between individual and group exercises covering both the silver and gold awards to ensure you have variety to the classes. You will need to bring with you plenty of soft treats that your dog enjoys (chicken frankfurters work well) and a favourite toy. You can also bring a blanket for your dog to rest on in between turns. 

Our silver gold classes are held at Taynton and Tibberton Village hall at 8.10pm on a Monday, Maisemore Village hall at 7.40pm on a Tuesday and Quedgeley Community Centre at 8.45pm on a Wednesday. For upcoming course dates please go to our courses and events page.

​The Kennel Club Good Citizen Gold Award

This 8 week block of classes costs £75 and develops skills learnt in bronze and silver, increases difficulty of known exercises while also introducing some new ones. The gold award includes

  • Outdoor heelwork with distractions and change of pace
  • Send the dog to bed
  • Off lead heelwork
  • Return to handlers side
  • Stop the dog from a distance
  • Food manners / leave a bowl of food
  • Relaxed isolation
  • Examination of the dog
  • Two minute down stay with 30 seconds out of sight
  • Additional responsibility and care

Class sizes are limited to 6-8 dogs, depending on venue. Class activity is mixed between individual and group exercises covering both the silver and gold awards to ensure you have variety to the classes. You will need to bring with you plenty of soft treats that your dog enjoys (chicken frankfurters work well) and a favourite toy. You can also bring a blanket for your dog to rest on in between turns.

Advanced Classes - Platinum and Diamond Awards

This 8 week block of classes costs £75 and covers a wide range of exercises from the fields of KCGCDS, competitive obedience, rally and trick training. For example...
  • Rally obedience levels 1-4
  • Off lead heel work around dogs, people, bowls and toys
  • 5 and 10 minute stays with out of sight 
  • Scent identification 
  • Recall through lines of food and toys
  • Multi component tricks such as tidy up your toys
  • Formal retrieve (any item)
  • Send dog to a designated place 
  • Knowledge of training, behaviour, welfare and disease
Class sizes are limited to 6-8 dogs, depending on venue. Class activity is mixed between individual and group exercises covering both the platinum and diamond awards to ensure you have variety to the classes. You will need to bring with you plenty of soft treats that your dog enjoys (chicken frankfurters work well) and a favourite toy. You can also bring a blanket for your dog to rest on in between turns. Scent cloths, retrieve articles and other items may also be required.

Our advance classes are held at Maisemore Village hall at 8.30pm on a Tuesday and at Quedgeley Community Centre at 9.30pm on a Wednesday. For upcoming course dates please go to our courses and events page.
